The Belgian capital, Brussels, is a tourist hotspot, attracting countless tourists every year. You can visit interesting sights like the Grand Place and, of course, Manneken Pis. The city also has neighborhoods that are best avoided at night.
Brussels is also known as the European capital, of course, because it houses numerous EU institutions, such as the European Commission, the Council of the European Union, and the European Council.
In the past, however, we've seen that Brussels also has a downside. Anyone who's followed the news in recent years knows that things can be quite unpleasant in Molenbeek and Brussels-North. And that's putting it mildly.
The area around Brussels-North train station doesn't have a great reputation. For example, tent camps were visible, often housing migrants. The area also doesn't have a good safety record. Not to mention the Sint-Jans Molenbeek neighborhood.
The area often gets negative press, so you'd think tourists could find something more enjoyable than visiting it.
A Dutch vlogger had a different opinion and decided to visit both Brussels-North and Molenbeek with his camera.
This resulted in some truly remarkable footage, some of which gets quite intense. You can watch the video below:
